Mainly I need the tool that turns the pins but if you have some rubber
stoppers, that would be great too. I was trying to tune a piano with a
socket set but learned that the tuning pegs having 4 sides which don't
work well with 6 sided sockets. Or if you can recommend a pawn shop that
might have it (one that specializes in music equipment perhaps) that would
be great.

I made one of these tools by welding two old 1/4" sockets face to face.
Then you can use a ratchet wrench or a T wrench, whatever you have in your
socket set.

Interesting. Did you ever find it got stuck on the piano tuning pins
since they are usually (or perhaps always) tapered?

I made it for a friend who bought an electronic tone generator and wanted to
try to tune the thing himself. I myself have not used it. I do believe the
fit is slightly sloppy which means there is a little play in the handle.
Not optimal but useable. He has told me the thing works great. Try putting
a socket on the pin the wrong way to get an idea for yourself.

Yes - that's precisely my line of thought. Thanks.
